Do Energy Levels Represents a Length Between Electron and nucleus?

Image
from arstechnica.com What do you think about that? Niels Bohr said that electrons were travelling in circular orbits. But today, we know that electrons are traveling in orbitals . I think before we answer the question, we have to talk about the structure of electrons. There are many energy levels in an atom. In each energy level, there are orbitals . There are four types of orbitals, we call s, p, d, f. When we talking about first energy level, there is only one “s” orbital. Then the second energy level, there are two orbitals called “s” and “p”. ( I’m only talking about s and p orbitals in this post. ) Every electron moving in their orbitals. So, we can’t tell where is the electron at the moment without catching it. But we can mark a specific area (That is what I called orbital.) and tell “the electron can be anywhere in this orbital.” In other words, the possibility of an electron can be from Wikipedia anywhere in orbital is one. By studying their wave funct

Chemical Garden

Image
When I was 10yeas old, I read a book about funny experiments. Among every other experiments, there was a experiment about chemical garden. However I couldn't did it, because I haven't any idea about using chemicals. and also I had no way to find chemicals. By the January of this year I could gather some chemicals to do this experiment. I learned how to make sodium silicate at home. Then I got a chance to do this experiment.             In this experiment we are using some colorful salts to make our garden colorful. However I could use only three salts. They were copper sulfate, zinc sulfate and ferrous sulfate. I wanted to use nickel sulfate. But I failed to make them. Ok. Let's see what we need... The experiment processed in a test tube You will need :- A Beaker (or any other clear glass container) Sodium Silicate (Water glass) Water (Distilled water is better) Some kinds of salts( copper sulfate, ferrous sulfate, etc.)            Color of yo

Make Concentrated Sulfuric from Battery Acid

Image
Hello everybody. Now we are going to make concentrated sulfuric acid from battery acid. Also you can use other types of sulfuric acid. However concentrated sulfuric acid is extremely dangerous. So you must be careful when working with it.                                    In this experiment I used battery acid. It has 29% to 32% of sulfuric acid. It means, if we get 50ml of battery acid, there will be 15ml of sulfuric acid (in 30% solution). Sulfuric acid is boiling at 337 0 C. (In 300 0 C, it will decompose slowly) But water is boiling at 100 0 C. So we can heat and remove water from solution.                 from Wikipedia.com Mass fraction H 2 SO 4 Density (kg/L) Concentration (mol/L) Common name 10% 1.07 ~1 dilute sulfuric acid 29–32% 1.25–1.28 4.2–5 battery acid (used in lead–acid batteries ) 62–70% 1.52–1.60 9.6–11.5 chamber acid fertilizer acid 78–80% 1.70–1.73 13.5–14 tower ac

Bi-color LED bulb

Hello everybody! I made my white color LED bulb into a bi-color LED bulb. To see how I made it, click the link bellow. http://www.instructables.com/id/White-LED-Bulb-Into-a-Bi-color-LED-Bulb/

Salt Crystals

Hi everybody. Since last month I tried make a large salt crystal. But I couldn't. However I could make small salt crystals.

SPI OLED with Ardiuno

Image
Hi. Today I show you how to use OLED Display with Arduino UNO . first of all, you need an Arduino board and an OLED Display. OLED DISPLAY   There are many types of OLED displays by color & type of connection. In this   experiment, I   used a 128*64 blue color SPI OLED display. Arduino Board   In this    experiment,  I used Lakduino UNO    which is   an Arduino compatible board . But you can use any Arduino board for this like pro, Nano, Leonardo etc. Connecting Display to Arduino My OLED Display has 7pins.  OLED                  Arduino     GND   ------->   GND     VCC    ------->  3.3v     CLK    ------->   D12     MOSI  ------->   D11     RES     ------->   D10     DC       ------->  D 9     CS       ------->  D 8 * However, my display worked without connecting GND and VCC. Compile and upload code to Arduino now we're going to upload the code for Arduino. to do this you need Arduino IDE , Adafruit-GF

Simple music generator with Um 66

Image
Hi, this is my school vacation. So I show you a simple circuit that makes music. Do you know what is um 66 ic. That is a small ic. It includes music tones. So, in this circuit we use this ic. List of electronic components Componet Quantity Ic UM66 1 2Sc828 1 100ohm 1 Circuit Diagram First time make it on a breadboard and check it. If it is working properly, you can make it on your own PCB or a dartboard. Pin configurations of UM66 and 2SC828 are given below. please add a comment
